Parts of Computers

Processors :
Processor commonly known as CPU -(Central Processing Unit) is the heart of a PC. The speed of the processor is a key determinant of your PCs performance. I recommend either of the popular brands of processors - Intel or AMD for your Right PC.

RAM:
RAM (Random Access Memory) also commonly called "Memory" is another key contributor in a PCs performance. If you find your system responding slowly when you are doing multiple things simultaneously then I recommended that you opt for more RAM.

Hard Disk :
Drive also referred to as 'HDD' is the storage vault/device for all your data files, music, pictures, videos and programs including your Windows operating system. If you plan to store lots of pictures & video then you can add on another HDD later as well. (By the way a 1 GB HDD can hold approximately 205 songs)

Graphic Card :

A graphics card helps speed up your system performance by freeing up the processor and memory when you are doing visually intensive work on your PC. I recommend an advanced NVidia graphics card that runs on the popular PCI express platform and comes with 128 MB of dedicated video memory. You should have one installed on your PC to enjoy Windows Vista stunning visual experience.

Optical Drive :

A CD Read & Write Combo will enable to access & write CD ROMs on your PC.

Monitor :
A Monitor is the computer display device which converts the data into a format which can be displayed on the screen. These days the flat screen TFT monitors are getting popular for their sleek and stylish looks and so are the wide screen ones for their richer viewing experience.

TV Tuner Card & Remote Control :
A TV tuner card is a PC component that allows television signals to be received by a PC. TV tuners also function as video capture cards, allowing them to record television programs onto a hard disk.

PC mother board :

A PC motherboard is a printed circuit board used in laptops and personal computers. It is also known as the mainboard or planar board and occasionally abbreviated to mobo or MB. The term mainboard is also used for the main circuit board in this and other electronic devices.
A typical motherboard provides attachment points for one or more of the following: CPU, graphics card, sound card, hard disk controller, memory (RAM), and external peripheral devices. The connectors for external peripherals are nearly always color coded according to the PC 99 specification.

All of the basic circuitry and components required for a computer to function are onboard the motherboard or are connected with a cable. The most important component on a motherboard is the chipset. It often consists of two components or chips known as the Northbridge and Southbridge, though they may also be integrated into a single component. These chips determine, to an extent, the features and capabilities of the motherboard

sound card (also known as an audio card) is a computer expansion card that facilitates the input and output of audio signals to/from a computer under control of computer programs. Typical uses of sound cards include providing the audio component for multimedia applications such as music composition, editing video or audio, presentation/education, and entertainment (games). Many computers have sound capabilities built in, while others require additional expansion cards to provide for audio capability.

SMPS:

A switched-mode power supply, switching-mode power supply or SMPS, is an electronic power supply unit (PSU) that incorporates a switching regulator. While a linear regulator uses a transistor biased in its active region to specify an output voltage, an SMPS actively switches a transistor between full saturation and full cutoff at a high rate. The resulting rectangular waveform is then passed through a low-pass filter (typically an inductor and capacitor) to achieve an approximated output voltage.
Advantages of this method include smaller size, better power efficiency, and lower heat generation.

Disadvantages include the fact that SMPSs are generally more complex than linear supplies, generate high-frequency electrical noise that may need to be carefully suppressed, and have a characteristic ripple voltage at the switching frequency.
